The first State Visits made by King Charles and Queen Camilla

King Charles and Queen Camilla are to undertake their first State Visits. Their Majesties will travel to France and Germany in early spring for trips to strengthen relationships with both countries.

The first State Visit of King Charles III will be to France. The King and Queen will arrive in Paris on March 26th for a four day visit. They will lay a wreath at the Arc de Triopmhe and attend a State Banquet in their honour at the Palace of Versailles. The French State Visit will also see Queen Camilla open an art exhibition at the Musee d'Orsay. There's a focus on the environment, too, which will take them to Bordeaux and a sustainable vineyeard.

King Charles and Queen Camilla head to Germany on March 29th for a three day visit. They will spend time in Berlin, where the State Banquet will be held at Schloss Bellevue, and in Hamburg where green issues are also on the agenda with a visit to the port. There is a poignant trip, too, to the Church of St. Nikolai in Hamburg to attend a remembrance service for those killed during World War Two.

His Majesty will address politicians in both countries with speeches at the National Assembly in Paris and the Bundestag in Berlin. It will be a high profile return to outgoing State Visits and a poignant one, too. The last outgoing State Visits of Queen Elizabeth II were to France, in June 2014, and Germany, in June 2015.
